  1. PSALM READING (RESPONSIVE READING) : Psalm 34:2-11

34:2 I will glory in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

34:3 Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.

34:4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

34:5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

34:6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

34:7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

34:9 Fear the LORD, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.

34:10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

34:11 Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

  1. LAW OF GOD – THE GREAT COMMANDMENT (Matthew 22:37-40)

22:38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

22:39 And the second is like it: ’Love your neighbor as yourself.’

22:40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

  1. HYMN : I HAVE DECIDED (MENGIKUT YESUS KEPUTUSANKU)

I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
I have decided to follow Jesus;
no turning back, no turning back.

Though none go with me, I still will follow;
though none go with me, I still will follow;
though none go with me, I still will follow;
no turning back, no turning back.

He’s the fairest of ten thousand,
Ev’rybody ought to know.
[Refrain]

On the cross He died for sinners,
And His blood makes white as snow;
Loving, living, coming Savior—
He’s the one you ought to know.
[Refrain]

  1. READING PRAYER

  1. SERMON TEXT : Jeremiah 23:1629

23:16 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.

23:17 They keep saying to those who despise me, ’The LORD says: You will have peace.’ And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say, ’No harm will come to you.’

23:18 But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see or to hear his word? Who has listened and heard his word?

23:19 See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked.

23:20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly.

23:21     I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.

23:22     But if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds.

23:23 “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the LORD, “and not a God far away?

23:24 Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the LORD. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD.

23:25 “I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ’I had a dream! I had a dream!’

23:26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?

23:27 They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal worship.

23:28 Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the LORD.

23:29 “Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

  1. THE APOSTLE’S CREED (CONFESS IN UNISON)

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit

and born of the Virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose again.

He ascended into heaven,

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and the life everlasting.

Amen

  1. HYMN : SAVIOR LIKE A SHEPHERD LEAD US (TUHAN KAU GEMBALA KAMI-KJ. 407)

Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

We are Thine, do Thou befriend us,
Be the guardian of our way;
Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,
Seek us when we go astray:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Hear, O hear us when we pray;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us,
Poor and sinful though we be;
Thou hast mercy to relieve us,
Grace to cleanse, and pow’r to free:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Early let us turn to Thee.

(Stand Up)

  1. THE LORD’S PRAYER (Pray in Unison)

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen

  1. OFFERING : Psalm 34:4

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

HYMN : BLESSED ASSURANCE (KUBERBAHAGIA-KJ. 392)

1) Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

       Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

       Heir of salvation, purchase of God,

       Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain : This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long;

This is my story, this is my song,

Praising my Savior all the day long.

2) Perfect submission, perfect delight,

Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;

Angels, descending, bring from above

Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Reff…

3) Perfect submission, all is at rest,

I in my Savior am happy and blest,

Watching and waiting, looking above,

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. Reff….

  1. OFFERING PRAYER

(Stand Up)

  1. CLOSING HYMN : SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS (S’LAMAT DI TANGAN YESUS-KJ.388)

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
Hark! ’tis the voice of angels,
Borne in a song to me,
Over the fields of glory,
Over the jasper sea.

Refrain : Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world’s temptations,
Sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,

Free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
Only a few more tears.
[Refrain]
